Does anyone know if it is possible to modifiy a super-8 camera to have an orientable viewfinder like the ones that are found on 16mm and 35mm motion picture cameras?
I don't know of any super-8 cameras in exsistence with one.
Michael (just wondering)

You may be able to modify a Bolex HS8 (double super 8). Having better access to the top mounted viewfinder could make this fairly easy to do. The non-RX cameras always had the option of an eyecup viewer that was mounted at the front of the camera, but that you looked down into. Adding a real viewfinder that would be adjustable would make using a Bolex a lot better. I hate using the handle style grip because these cameras are really not that light. The cost may not be worth it, plus it's a spring wound motor, so adding a motor and a new viewfinder for a camera that uses hard to find film would be risky. It would be nice to modify the EBM! Oops, did I mention 16mm?
The only other way to do this, maybe, is with a video tap. Barely worth thinking about since the cost would be silly.
